Dr. Garret Cynar attended Loyola University Chicago in Illinois for his undergraduate degree and obtained his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Cynar completed his Family Practice residency at Hinsdale Family Medicine Center in the Chicago suburbs. Cynar is a board certified Sleep & Family Medicine physician who strives to help people understand their medical conditions and proactively manage them for a better quality of life. He believes service to others as a physician is not just a professional calling, but also a vocational calling, one that he is fortunate enough to enjoy.

During his professional career as an adult medicine physician, Dr. Cynar developed a particular interest in diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension, and obesity management. His interest in diabetes and related conditions led him to obtain further board certification in Sleep Medicine. Now, Dr. Cynar specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of many adult sleep disorders, including sleep apnea and insomnia.

Dr. Cynar is married and enjoys international travel with his wife and son. He plays soccer every week and continues to enjoy playing tennis with his best friend of nearly 40 years, whom he’s known since junior high school. Dr. Cynar’s other personal passions include literature, theatre, music, 20th-century history, and Dallas’ wide variety of wonderful foods.
